The Bolshevik Revolution occurred after the fall of the Tsarist Empire during the time of the Provisional Government and is also known as the October Revolution. It was marked by two slogans: “Peace, Land, and Bread!” and “All Power to the Soviets!” The Bolshevik Revolution was a rejection of Plekhanov’s mechanical Marxism or stagism, which supposed that states must go through a bourgeois republican phase before they can transition to Communism. The success of the Bolshevik Revolution established the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the first socialist state in world history.
